How to Set Up Webhook in Square?

In this article, we’ll understand how to set up webhooks in Square to receive notifications on a webhook URL.

Setting Up Webhook in Square

1. Login to your Square Developer Dashboard.

2. Create Or Choose an application.

3. Select the Production account and go to Webhooks > Subscriptions from the left navigation menu.

4. Click on the “Add Subscription” button under the Webhooks Subscriptions section.

5. Add the name of the webhook under the “Webhook Name” field.

6. Copy the webhook URL from the trigger flyout & paste it under the URL field.

7. Select your API version. The recommendation will be to leave it as the default.

8. Choose the required webhook event from the list of events. For all events, you can select the ‘Select all’ option.

9. Save it.

10. Now Click on the latest created webhook.

11. Choose More at the bottom of the dialog to open a context menu.

12. Click on “Send test event” to send an event.

13. Now inside the “Send test event” dialog box, choose the event type that you want to send from the Event dropdown and Send it.

14. Click on Send.

That’s it! You have successfully added a webhook to your Square account.
