SureTriggers: Gravity Forms Integration Guide

  • Send a notification to a specific team member on WhatsApp when a form is submitted

How Does Automation Work In SureTriggers?

SureTriggers is an automation platform that allows you to create workflows based on triggers and actions.

Triggers are events that happen on your website, while actions are the tasks you want to automate based on those triggers.

Triggers/Actions Available For Gravity Forms

SureTriggers has a ‘Form Submitted’ trigger that runs when a Gravity Form is submitted.

It fetches all the response input provided while submitting the form.

How To Connect Gravity Forms With SureTriggers?

To be able to use Gravity Form-related actions and triggers, you’ll be required to activate the SureTriggers plugin on the WordPress site where you’re using Gravity Forms.

Follow the steps below to install SureTriggers plugin on your WordPress site.

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Click on “Plugins” in the left-hand menu and select “Add New”.
  3. In the search box, type “SureTriggers” and hit enter.
  4. The SureTriggers plugin should appear in the search results. Click on the “Install Now” button next to it.
  5. Once the plugin is installed, click on the “Activate” button to activate it.
  6. After activation, follow the instructions on the screen to authorize SureTriggers to access your WordPress site. 
  7. Once you’ve authorized, you’ll see the SureTriggers dashboard in your WordPress admin section.

Creating Workflows With Gravity Forms In SureTriggers

Let’s say you’re a course creator and you want to add people to your mailing list whenever they reach out to you via a contact form on your website.

Now if you do this manually, it would be very time-consuming and very inefficient. 

So we’ll create a workflow to automatically add users who fill out a contact form to your email list in MailChimp.

If you’ve your SureTriggers plugin installed on your site, this setup would take 10-15 minutes.

Step 1: Set Up Gravity Forms Trigger

  1. Go to the SureTriggers dashboard
  2. Click on the Create New Workflow button
  3. Give a unique identifier name to this workflow and start building
  4. Click on the Add Trigger button
  5. Select the trigger app as ‘Gravity Forms’
  6. Select trigger event as ‘Form Submitted’
  7. Select the site where you have Gravity Forms installed.
  8. Select the form through which you want to add the subscriber in Mailchimp.
  9. When you see the ‘We are waiting for the “Form Submitted” event..’ message, submit your form with test data.
  10. When SureTriggers has fetched the form responses, click on the save button at the bottom of the screen to save this step.

Step 2:  Setup action to Add New Subscriber in MailChimp

  1. Click on the + icon to add a new action
  2. Select the action app as Mailchimp’
  3. Select the action event as ‘Add/Update Contact’
  4. Select the Mailchimp account to which you want to add the contact.
  5. Select the audience to which you want the contract to be added.
  6. Map other details like email address, first name, last name, or in any custom field that you’ve created in Mailchimp. SureTriggers can pass data into custom fields too. 💪
  7. Add the tags that you would like to have for this contact.
  8. Once you’ve mapped the data as asked for Add New Subscriber action, click on the test action button.
  9. After the test action is successful, save this step.
  10. Publish the workflow.

Your workflow is live! Whenever your site visitors submit the form with the details, they will be added to Mailchimp automatically and instantly! 😉
