How to Set up Webhooks in Zendesk

Zendesk is a leading customer service platform that enables businesses to improve customer relationships through efficient support and communication tools. It offers a wide range of features including ticketing systems, live chat, knowledge bases, and automation tools to streamline workflows and enhance customer satisfaction. Zendesk is designed to support businesses of all sizes by providing scalable solutions for managing customer interactions across multiple channels.

In this article, we’ll understand how to set up webhooks in Zendesk to receive notifications on a webhook URL.

Setting Up Webhook in Zendesk

  1. Login to your Zendesk account.
  1. Click on Views in the left sidebar, then select Manage Views.
  1. Click Apps and integrations > Webhooks.
  1. Click Create webhook.
  1. Choose Trigger or automation and click Next.
  1. Enter a name for your webhook, then copy the webhook URL from the trigger flyout and paste it into the “Endpoint URL” field. Choose your request method, request format, and authentication type.
  1. Click the Test Webhook button and then Send Test and click on Create.
  1. Next, you will need to select a trigger or automation in the Admin Center.
  1. Then from left sidebar go to Objects and rules > Business rules > Triggers.
  1. Click on Create trigger.
  1. Enter a name, choose a category, and set the conditions necessary for the trigger to run.
  1. Under Actions, select Notify by > active webhook and then choose your new webhook that you just created. Click Create.
  1. Return to the Webhooks page and click Finish setup..

That’s it! You have successfully added a webhook to your Zendesk account.
