How to Set up Webhooks in Updown.io

Updown.io is an online service that checks your website’s status by periodically sending an HTTP request. It then notifies you by Slack, Telegram, email, or SMS when your website is not responding correctly, your SSL certificate is invalid or about to expire, and more.

In this article, we’ll understand how to set up webhooks in Updown.io to receive notifications on a webhook URL.

Setting Up Webhook in Updown.io

  1. Login to your Updown.io account.
  1. Click on ‘Settings’.
  1. Scroll down and go to the ‘Webhooks’ section and provide a label for your webhook.
  1. Copy the webhook URL from the trigger flyout and paste it inside the URL field.
  1. Click on the ‘Save’ button.
  1. Now, scroll down again to the Webhooks section and click the “Send a test webhook” button below the URL field to send the test response to the trigger flyout.
  1. Now, on the “Send a test notification” page, select a previously added webhook from the ‘Recipient’ dropdown.
  1. Select an event according to your requirement from the ‘Event’ dropdown.
  1. Click on the ‘Send’ button.

That’s it! You have successfully added a webhook to your Updown.io account.
