How to Set Up Webhooks in Freshdesk?

Freshdesk is a comprehensive customer support platform designed to streamline and enhance customer communication and assistance. With a range of powerful features and functionalities, Freshdesk empowers businesses to deliver exceptional customer service and support.

One of the ways to integrate Freshdesk with other apps and services is via Webhooks.

And in this article, we’ll understand how to set up webhooks in Freshdesk to receive notifications on a webhook URL.

Setting Up Webhook in Freshdesk

To configure the webhook URL in Freshdesk, simply follow these steps:

1. Login to your Freshdesk account.
2. Navigate to the left sidebar and click on ‘Admin’.

3. Then click on ‘Workflows’.

4. Then inside the workflows section, click on ‘Automations’.

5. Under the “Rules that run on:” section, click the “Ticket Creation” tab.

6. Click the “New Rule” button or use the existing one.

7. Give your rule a name under the “Rule name” field.

9. Under “Perform these actions:” section Choose actions as “Trigger webhook”.

10. Select the Request type as ‘POST’.

11. Copy the Webhook URL from the flyout and paste it under the URL field.

12. Choose the Encoding type as ‘JSON’ & Content as “Simple or Advanced”.

13. Click on Preview and save.

That’s it! You have successfully added a webhook to your Freshdesk account.
