How to Set Up Webhook in GIST?

GIST is an all-in-one platform that combines email marketing automation, live chat, and help desk functionalities to empower businesses with effective customer communication and support.

One of the ways to integrate GIST with other apps and services is via Webhooks.

And in this article, we’ll understand how to set up webhooks in GIST to receive notifications on a webhook URL.

Setting Up Webhook in GIST

To configure the webhook URL, simply follow these steps:

  • 1. Log in to your GIST account.
  • 2. Click on ‘Settings’.

  • 3. Click on ‘Webhooks’ under the “API & webhooks” tab.

  • 4. Click on the “Create Webhook” button to create a new webhook.

  • 5. Now, enter the name of the Webhook according to your trigger in the “What should we call your new Webhook?” field. Remember, you can always change this name later if needed.

  • 6. Now, select the topic from the ‘Topic’ dropdown that corresponds to your trigger. For example, if your trigger is “New User,” you should select the “User Created” topic from the dropdown.

  • 7. Then click on the ‘Create’ button to create the webhook.

  • 8. Now, on the “Webhook Editor” page, enter the Webhook URL in the “Webhook URL” field. The HTTP method will default to POST. Please note that the “Send Test” feature is only available for users who have upgraded to the Professional or Premium plan.

  • 9. Remain Webhook body to ‘Default’ as it is. You can select ‘Custom’ also if you want to fetch only specific data.

  • 10. Turn On the status to make the webhooks active. Please note that the above feature is only available for users who have upgraded to the Professional or Premium plan. In the end, click on the ‘Save’ button to save the webhook.

That’s it! You have successfully added a webhook to your GIST account.
