How to Set up Webhooks in Todoist

Todoist is a to-do list and task manager for professionals and small businesses. Combining tasks, projects, comments, attachments, notifications, and more, Todoist lets users streamline their personal and team productivity and work more effectively.

In this article, we’ll understand how to set up webhooks in Todoist to receive notifications on a webhook URL.

Setting Up Webhook in Todoist

  1. Login to your Todoist account.
  1. Click on the Create a new app button in the App Management Console. (Skip if you already have)
  1. Enter your App name and App service URL (SureTriggers platform URL: https://app.suretriggers.com), then click the “Create App” button.
  1. Scroll down to the bottom of the page to the Webhook section. Copy the webhook URL from the trigger flyout and paste it into the “Webhook Callback URL” field.
  1. In the Watched Events section, you can choose/select an event based on your trigger. For example, if you want to set up a webhook for the “Project Created” event, select the “project:added” event. You can either select a single event or enable all events if needed.
  1. Finally, click the “Activate Webhook” button to activate the webhook.

That’s it! You have successfully added a webhook to your Todoist account.

Connect Todoist with Other Apps

If you want to connect Todoist with other apps that you use to automate processes, you must check out SureTriggers!

Todoist Integration can help you automate processes like:

  • Trigger a Slack notification when a new project is added in Todoist.
  • Add new Todoist tasks to Google Calendar as detailed events.

These are just some random examples of automation. SureTriggers can do a lot more!
